About the Event

The session will discuss the impact of funding cuts on civil society, advocacy efforts, and sustainable development. The speakers can be found hereunder:

  1. Elina Turalyeva (Teens Kyrgyzstan) – Discusses the human cost of funding cuts on sexual and reproductive health, mental health, gender equality, and rights in Central Asia.

  2. Guillermo Ricalde (ILGA World) – Examines the impact of funding cuts on gender and LGBTI movements and organizations.

  3. Alexey Lakhov (HIV Prevention Consultant, EECA region) – Highlights the consequences of shifting donor priorities for health projects, especially HIV initiatives.

  4. Dr. Ramazan Tunc (New Life Association) – Addresses how restricted funding affects civic space, advocacy efforts, and spillover effects on other regions.

  5. Wolfgang Obenland (Forum Umwelt & Entwicklung) – Discusses global adaptations to the changing financial landscape for sustainable development.

The event is organized by ECE-RCEM in collaboration with key civil society networks and regional partners.
